Anthony Joshua and Usyk Step Into the ring

Anthony Joshua completed a shadow boxing session and went face to face with Oleksandr Usyk during a press event in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday evening.
Joshua is due to face Usyk for a second time this year after losing his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts on an unanimous points decision in September last year.

Both fighters enjoyed their moment in the spotlight during a press event in Al Balad ahead of their crucial rematch on August 20.

Joshua’s manager Freddie Cunningham shared a video of the heavyweight boxer inside the King Abdullah stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The 32-year-old was seen shadow boxing around the venue which will host his rematch with Usyk in August this year.

Joshua was dressed head-to-toe in Under Armour kit and posed for phots as several camera’s followed him around the stadium.

Cunningham’s next video showed Joshua preparing for a media workout in Al Balad – wrapping his hands in black athletic tape and gauze.

Joshua was then seen working out inside the ring – exciting fans with his fast hands -before going face-to-face with Usyk.

Event organisers were heard calling for the two to ‘separate’ but neither athlete moved as they continued to stare each other down.
Joshua remains confident he can overcome the Ukrainian despite admitting Usyk ‘bust his ass’ during their first fight in September 2022.

AJ has freshened up his training team, parting company with former coach Robert McCracken and joining forces with new esteemed cornerman Robert Garcia.

Speaking about his previous fights compared to his preparation for this summer’s rematch, the 32-year-old said: ‘With Andy Ruiz, I think a lot of people can see before the fight things weren’t 100 per cent.

‘But you’ve got to be strong and thick skinned, we take our loss like a man, because when I win I keep it moving, I think everybody, and if I lose you’ve got to stay humble as well in defeat. So I kept it moving and I knew I could come back again and do what I have to do.
