Brittany Matthews apparently doesn’t mind burning bridges.
The wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes reposted some cryptic quotes on her Instagram Story Monday amid Jackson Mahomes’ sexual battery case.
“As you get older you start to understand the difference between friends and associates, family and blood, business and work, love and lust, want and need. And most of all what’s important and what’s not,” one quote from Matthews’ post read.
A second slide featured a different quote: “Unfortunately, a lot of y’all met me when I lacked boundaries and was a people pleaser. Let me reintroduce myself, I burn bridges as needed.”
Matthews added, “Sheesh” with a clapping hands emoji.
Her posts came shortly after she and Mahomes, owners of the KC Current NWSL team, attended the Current vs. San Diego Wave game on Sunday with their daughter sterling Skye, 2, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, born November 2022.
Both Matthews and Mahomes have yet to publicly address the assault allegations brought against Jackson, whose case is ongoing.
Jackson, a 22-year-old social media influencer, was arrested on May 3 and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery, and an additional count of misdemeanor battery, according to court records, following a Feb. 25 incident at a Kansas City restaurant, where he was accused of assault by a restaurant owner and a waiter in March 2023.

Jackson is also accused of shoving a 19-year-old waiter at the restaurant twice before he was told to leave.
Jackson made $100,000 bond after he appeared briefly in Johnson County District Court in Texas on May 3, according to the outlet.
Brandan Davies, an attorney for Jackson, said his client “has done nothing wrong” in a March statement.
“Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser, including the statements of several witnesses,” Davies said.
“We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”

During an Instagram Q&A in April, Matthews defended Jackson when one person asked: “How do you feel about the comments about your BIL?”
“They are ignorant,” Matthews wrote in her response. “He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say s–t about him.
“So it’s best to just shut up.”
Matthews did not reference the specific comments concerning her brother-in-law, nor did she address his sexual battery case.
