Although she has been the best tennis player in the world for over a year, she is only second in terms of the value of social media entries. According to the report of the Professional Tennis Players Association, Iga Świątek “loses” in this statistics with Indian Sania Mirza.
The Professional Tennis Players Association collected the value of social media entries – on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram – from January 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023. The total value of Iga Świątek’s social media entries amounted to almost USD 9.5 million.
Only Indian Sania Mirza , known in the tennis world mainly for playing doubles, can boast of a better result than the Polish woman . Mirza won three Grand Slam tournaments in doubles and mixed doubles. Indyjka’s advantage over Świątek is even the number of followers – over 9 million on Twitter with 440,000 Polish women, 11.5 million to 1 million on Instagram, 15 million to 420,000 on Facebook.
The list was followed by Naomi Osaka, Emma Raducanu and Ons Jabeur.
The men’s ranking is led by Rafael Nadal (over 29 million), followed by Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.
Another Polish tennis player, Magda Linette, also received a distinction in the PTPA summary. The value of this player increased by as much as 333%, which is the largest increase in the past year.
