Kelham Road, the home of Newark Rugby Club, hosted a New Zealand-themed Rugby evening last featuring former All Blacks Justin Marshall and Andrew Mehrtens.
Coinciding with the England Autumn International series, the pair were interviewed by former Scottish International and current TV Rugby commentator Rory Lawson.
The long-standing tradition of the Newark Rugby Club generates much-needed income for the running of the teams and the upkeep of the facilities. At the same time, the event raises the profile of the club through the professional rugby community.
A packed room of over 140 attendees were treated to insights into the mentality of the famous All Blacks team and their winning mindset. The club, now in its 103th year, runs over 25 teams from under-six to senior age groups with players — both men, and ladies coming from Newark and surrounding areas.
