Biles, 24, announced the happy news on Instagram this morning, sharing several photos of the moment Owens, 26, got down on one knee to pop the question on Valentine’s Day.
The loved-up couple beamed in the images, which also show Owens lifting Biles up and kissing her.
‘THE EASIEST YES,’ the pro gymnast gushed. ‘I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ.’
A closeup and a video spotlighted Biles’ new diamond ring, which features a three-carat oval-cut diamond on a band inlaid with more diamonds.
Jonathan has been a client and friend for a few years and I had the pleasure of helping him to create this very special ring,’ jeweler ZoFrost revealed to DailyMail.com.
‘He and I started the process together a few months ago to select the perfect diamond for Simone that was handpicked by Jonathan. He wanted to add a special touch to the ring by adding a halo around the oval diamond,’ he said.
Owens chose a three-carat stone that is an F color. Diamonds get color grades from D to J, with D being absolutely colorless and J having slightly detected color. F is a high-quality diamond that’s considered colorless, with only slight color detected by an expert gemologists.
The diamond has a clarity grade of VVS2 (Very Very Slightly Included), which has inclusions that are very difficult to under 10x
Biles — who has six Olympic medals, including four gold from the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics — has been dating her beau for a little under two years.
They first connected via social media in March 2020, right before the pandemic shut down the US.
‘He would say I slid into his DMs,’ Biles told the Wall Street Journal. ‘I saw him and I was like, “Oh, he’s pretty cute,” so I said hi … and then I saw that he was in the Houston area, so we started chatting a little bit, and then we went to hang out a week or two later.’
