We feel a certain kinship to Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Dallas-Fort Worth. In 2013, he wrapped up his high school career in a playoff loss at Allen. As a Texas Tech QB, he was pitted against TCU in Fort Worth. His dad, Pat, played for the Texas Rangers.
On Sunday, Mahomes will be quarterbacking in his second consecutive Super Bowl.
If you’re a sports fan, you know all that.
It’s not a stretch for Mahomes, 25, to be accumulating homes. He has the NFL’s largest contract, a 10-year deal worth $503 million, “which would make most people reassess their real-estate situation,” Realtor.com reported.
Apparently, Mahomes is doing exactly that. Realtor.com was tipped to Mahomes’ plan when he was recently interviewed on The Dan Patrick Show.
Mahomes told Patrick: “I’m going to have a half football field, so I can get some work in with some guys out there.”
Obviously, a half football field is not in Nebraska Furniture Mart’s inventory, so Realtor.com determined that an LLC connected to Mahomes put down $400K for a large, undeveloped parcel in a private community centered around a lake and a Tom Watson-designed golf course.
According to Realtor.com, the “acreage will easily accommodate a 60-yard patch of greenery in the backyard.”
